Anker unveiled its new lineup of USB-C power adapters during a product reveal event in New York City. The company aims to address the issue of e-waste by offering these versatile chargers as an alternative to phone manufacturers shipping adapters with their devices. The new line, called Anker Prime, includes several gallium nitride (GaN) chargers that were previously released as part of Anker’s GaNPrime collection. One notable addition is the Prime desktop 240W charger, set to launch in July. This charger can support a maximum of 140W per device, similar to chargers from other manufacturers like Hyper and Ugreen. It can even simultaneously fast-charge two larger MacBook Pro laptops, as long as Apple’s MagSafe to USB-C cable is used and at least one of the laptops is a 14-inch model. The charger features three USB-C ports and one USB-A port. It also has a stand for vertical placement on a desk. The price for the 240W desktop charger has yet to be determined. Anker’s senior PR manager highlighted the new charger’s compatibility with the USB-C 2.1 standard and suggested it as an ideal pack-in for powering devices like gaming laptops. However, since most current laptops can only handle up to 100W charging over USB, gamers may still rely on standard chargers to optimize performance without draining their batteries. Anker also introduced the Prime 250W Battery Bank, an upgraded version of last year’s PowerCore 24K battery bank. The new bank features a larger 27,650mAh battery capacity and can output up to 250 watts from all its ports. It also supports fast-charging for two laptops simultaneously. The bank comes with optional charging dock that provides a home for the battery. Anker also released the Prime Reserve, an emergency/camping battery with a pop-out lantern light. Powered by 60,000mAh LFP batteries, it has enough power to recharge an iPhone around ten times. It comes with dual USB-C and USB-A ports, as well as an XT60 connector for add-on solar panels. Anker also updated its power station, with a power status screen and increased power output of 140 watts. The new Anker Prime products are expected to be available in July.
