If you’re a fan of Silo on Apple TV Plus, you’ll be happy to hear that a second season is on its way. The post-apocalyptic show, based on Hugh Howey’s novels, first aired on May 5th and is set to finish on June 30th.
Check out our review of Season 1 here.
The series takes place in an underground facility called Silo, which protects the last survivors of the human race from the barren wasteland outside. Season 1 felt like a small-town mystery with an end-of-the-world twist. It features an all-star cast including Rebecca Ferguson, Common, Harriet Walter, Chinaza Uche, Avi Nash, David Oyelowo, Rashida Jones, and Tim Robbins.
Showrunner Graham Yost stated, “We cannot wait for audiences around the world to immerse themselves in the epic world we have created to bring Hugh Howey’s novels to life. Apple has believed in our vision from day one, and it’s an honor to have the opportunity to dig deeper into this story and peel back the layers to our characters in the silo.”
Apple has shown support for mystery series like Silo by renewing other shows such as Servance and Servant for multiple seasons. This makes it easier for viewers to become invested in the show, as compared to other streaming platforms that tend to cancel puzzle box shows before they progress too far.
