Microsoft recently concluded its annual summer showcase for Xbox games, which featured a plethora of exciting announcements. Among the highlights was a lengthy look at Starfield, the much-anticipated sci-fi RPG from Bethesda, which was unveiled through a trailer and a 45-minute Starfield Direct event. During this session, the development team shared insights on various aspects of the game, such as character creation, space exploration, companions, and ship-building. Starfield is slated for release on September 6th, with customized accessories like a new controller, headset, and collector’s edition watch also available.
Fans of the Fable series were treated to a quirky trailer for the new installment, though no release date was confirmed. Ubisoft’s forthcoming Star Wars game, Star Wars: Outlaws, was also previewed in a cinematic trailer. Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, an upcoming expansion, received a new trailer that confirms its release date as September 26th, while Forza Motorsport is set to launch on October 10th.
Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II also had a stunning new trailer debut, showcasing the gaming capabilities of Xbox Series X. The Clockwork Revolution, a new steampunk RPG from inXile Entertainment, was previewed in a pre-alpha sneak peek, while two Persona titles are heading to the Xbox platform: Persona 3 Reload in early 2024 and Persona 5 Tactica which launches on November 17th.
Other exciting announcements include a new black Xbox Series S featuring 1TB of storage, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 with new features like hot air balloon rides, aerial firefighting, and a Dune-focused expansion in November. There’s also Avowed, a first-person RPG from Obsidian, with a scheduled release date of 2024, and Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth featuring Ichiban from Yakuza: Like a Dragon. Finally, Overwatch 2’s story missions and a new hero will launch on August 10th.
